After the TOUR IN THE AMERICAS, from Patagonia to the Northern Lights, in which we driven our car during 4 continuos years, from 2010 to 2014, presenting the show Mandragora Circus in theaters and festivals of 18 countries from Argentina to Alaska, United State, in November 2014 we came back to Argentina for some months. Left the car in Calgary, Canada with the idea of return to pick up it later, and continue the tour.
The time we spent in Argentina follow traveling, as we always did since started with Mandragora Circo in 2003. First landed in Las Tierras de Avalon, in Canning, Buenos Aires where our big friend, Juan Laso and his family welcome us and presented the show. From there we travel to Mendoza and to Patagonia where participated in theatre festivals, did tours but mainly, we meet again with many friends and its make us to stay in the country longer than the plans.
We haven´t decided to where continue the tour, when suddenly received an invititation to participate in the theatre festival of Nuevo León, in Mexico and in this way we went out and the tour started to find the way again.
After 9 months in Argentina, in July 2015 we traveled from Trelew, the city where we formed Mandragora Circo, to the centre of Argentina to participate in Theatre Festivals in the cities of Rosario and Buenos Aires, from where we flew to Monterrey, Mexico to take part in the Festival of Theatre of Nuevo Leon, with excellent theatre productions from Mexico and Latin America.
From Mexico we flew to Canada and arrived in Calgary City, where we meet again with Dave and Marie, our dear friends from the road, we have been met in a music show in Whitehorse, Canada in 2014. Where they invited us to their home in Calgary where passed very nice and funny moments and then offer us their garage to leave our car while we where in Argentina.
At middle August, after spent all the winter with temperatures of 20 degrees below cero and all around cover with snow, the car started at the first and we were again on the road, as if time had not passed, again sitting in the car driving, this time to the south and for new ways. In British Columbia, Canada we re meet with Geo, Gen, Sam and their family, our friends from Calgary, with whom the previous year have shared some shows and many good times as we did once again.
Following the travel we continued in the west cost of the United States, going by Washington, Seattle and California. The tour started to get build when we received the invitation to participate with the show in the Children´s Theatre Festival of Bucharest, Romania in October this same year. The invitation also included the travel tickets but the travel must to be done from Argentina, meaning we need to came back and decide what to do with the car.
In the meantime we continue driving south in a road of beach, dunes and giant tree forest. After San Francisco we found in a small town a Citroën Rendezvous, even that this brand is not common because is not imported anymore in the United States since 1970. We decided to stop with our Citroën Berlingo and proposed to the organizers to present our show to the participants. The keen collectors were amazed to hear the story of the Berlingo that travelled 70.000 km, from Argentina to Alaska without any problem and was still running. We spent 2 days parked beside a lot of beautiful classic cars telling our stories. The night of the gala dinner we presented an extract of the show that everyone enjoyed and came back to our table to listen the prizes, as we also had our favorites. The biggest surprise was when the prize to the Best of Show was to our Berlingo, even that we didn´t know it was in the contest. Although it was a great compliment, the best prize of the night was that sitting next to us, at the dinner table, we met Roy, whom invited us to his house, a “Rancho” near Los Angeles and we found a place to leave the car while we travel to Europe.
But before, we continued traveling south to Tijuana, Mexico where our friend and poet, Jhonnatan Curiel have organized this time shows for Mandragora Circus in 4 theaters around the big border city. We went from one point to the other in the big city presenting the show, came back to the Estacion Teatro in the Pasaje Rodriguez and ended with a full house in the theatre of the house of culture.
We said goodbye to Tijuana at mid of September and came back driving to the United States to leave the car there, return to Argentina and from there continue to Europe. One more time we were in the line to cross the “More transited border in the world” that every day is crossed for more than 60.000 cars, only going to the north. After a long day driving, with hot weather and lot of traffic, we got in Roy´s house, near Los Angeles, where prepared our luggage and leave the car, one more time not sure until when.
In Argentina we spent an intense one week, we traveled to Patagonia to do 5 shows, in Santa Rosa La Pampa, Plottier and Neuquen and we meet with dear friends one more time. We came back to Buenos Aires where did an interview to the Public Television, telling about our next tour in Europe, where beside Romania would also participate in a Theatre Festival in Bosnia and Herzegovina and would do some shows in Poland. We set the show in 2 suitcases and the accordion, as we used to do when started to travel in Argentina in 2003, and boarded the plane to travel to other continent and continue this tour, without time or destination, that decided to call: “The world is our house”.
